President Buhari to dissolve cabinet on May 22
Reports reaching us say that President Muhammadu Buhari may likely dissolve his cabinet on May 22,2019.He is also most likely going to appoint a new cabinet in late June which is going to be constituted by 70% new members.
Already the Secretary to the Government of the Federation and the Presidential Audit Committee have instructed cabinet ministers to submit their handover notes on or before April 24th.
It was also reported that many of the ministers are lobbying to be retained but the President has refused to yield to pressure to retain them because he is not satisfied with their performance. There are others that the President is strongly contemplating to reshuffle or drop them because of lack of experience. For example the Finance minister, Hajiya Zainab Ahmed and her Communications counterpart Barr. Shittu Adebayo who has not been able to bring any meaningful development to the communications sector because of his poor grasp of the sector will not return. In fact there is a strong possibility that the President will also disband the almighty ministry of Power,Works and Housing into two or three ministries because Barr. Raji Fashola is yet to solve the power challenge of which Mr. President is passionate to see working.
It is not clear if Mr. Abba Kyari will be retained but indications show that both Babagana Munguno and Boss Mustapha will retain their jobs even though some power brokers are lobbying for Major Hamza Almustapha and Brigadier Buba Marwa to replace them as NSA and SGF respectively.
There is a strong possibility that President Buhari’s next cabinet will feature people like Senator Godswill Akpabio,Bismark Rewane,Brigadier Buba Marwa,Akinwunmi Ambode,Tijjani Tumsah and Senator Abubakar Danladi just to mention but a few.
