Taraba Council chairmen commends CSDP on community development projects

Local government chairmen in Taraba state have commended the Community and Social Development Projects (CSDP) in the state for consistently bridging the development gap in the rural communities with the timely intervention with people oriented projects.
The chairmen who spoke at a workshop in Jalingo organized by the CSDP to enlighten critical stakeholders on community project execution and projection of projects estimate and priority evaluation, said that CSDP interventions have help to bring governance closer to the people at the rural areas.
Mr Daniel Adi, Chairman of Wukari local government area who spoke on behalf of other chairmen noted that “due to financial constraints and other bureaucratic issues, performance at the local governments is usually below expectation. That is why the complimentary role of the CSDP is so significant and important to us.”
The state general manager of CSDP Mr Iremia Ezekiel in his opening remarks said that the he was impressed with the positive feedback coming in from the various communities and local governments and assured that the CSDP was poised to transform the rural areas in the state by bringing people oriented projects.
He commended the state government for releasing their counterparts funding promptly to enable them get the funding from the World Bank for the projects for the year in view.
“We are getting positive feedback from the communities on the impact of our projects and that is heart warming”.
