Nema distributes relief materials to over 3000 households victims of 2018 flood disaster in Taraba

Taraba state government has commended the National Emergency Management Agency #Nema for assisting victims in 11 local government areas that were affected by the flood last year in the state.
Governor Drius Ishaku stated this through his Deputy Engineer Haruna Manu during the flagged-off of the distribution of relief materials to the victims affected by the flood held at NEMA warehouse in Jalingo, the state capital.
The Governor while calling on the Nema and State Emergency Management Agency (TSEMA) to strictly distribute the items to the right beneficiaries, also promised to monitored the exercise in the benefitting local government areas.
In his remark, NEMA Head of Operations in charge of Adamawa and Taraba states Mr. Abbani Imam Garki said, the benefitting local governments consist of Jalingo, Karim Lamido, Ardo kola, Lau, Sardauna, Gassol, Takum, Donga, Wukari and Ussa, as well as Ibi respectively with the total of 3,274 households as beneficiaries.
According to him, the relief materials was aimed at providing succour those that were affected by the flood as well as to complement the effort of the state government in rendering assistance in that direction.
Abbani who was represented by his Assistant in the Agency, however urged the people of the communities to avoiding building on waterways and canals, adding if compiled many lives and property, as well as coast of procuring relief materials by government would be served.
